Amica Insurance earns Worksite Health Award
Amica Insurance has been recognized with an Exemplary Worksite Health Award from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
The 28th Annual Worksite Health Awards celebrate companies that prioritize employee health and wellness. Amica was one of 34 Rhode Island businesses honored by BCBSRI and the Chamber in recognition of its continued efforts to advance employee wellness and build a healthier Rhode Island.
“Amica’s wellness initiatives were developed to support and encourage employees and their families to participate in activities that nurture all aspects of well-being,” said Jean Tapley, senior benefits and wellness supervisor in Amica’s Human Resources department. “We offer health care premium reductions to encourage employees to see their doctor and dentist annually. To help ease the stress that was so prevalent during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we offer free access to the Calm app to help employees manage stress, balance their moods and sleep better.”
Tapley continued, “Each of our branch locations, as well as each corporate office department, has a designated Wellness Champion who helps to create a culture of health by being a wellness resource. Wellness Champions can provide wellness-related information, resources and encouragement to employees.”
The Worksite Health Awards are an opportunity for employers to learn from best practices while showcasing the advances being made every day to improve the worksite health and well-being of Rhode Islanders. In this year’s awards, companies were once again recognized for their support of employees’ physical and emotional well-being during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With so many still working remotely, there continues to be a heightened priority on connecting with employees through new and innovative wellness offerings.
