These annuities can be opened as a Single Premium Deferred Annuity (SPDA) or a Flexible Premium Deferred Annuity (FPDA), depending on the way the contributions are made.
Current rate
Each contribution you make has its own interest rate. The contribution amount will earn interest at this rate for the next 12 months.
Interest rates vary depending on the type of annuity and the date of purchase.

Guaranteed rate
Guaranteed rates apply to both Single Premium Deferred Annuities and Flexible Premium Deferred Annuities. The interest rate you earn will never fall below the guaranteed rate.
