Included with:
- Signature condo and renters policies (can be removed, or you may opt for identity theft coverage only)
- Can be added to any Essential, Advantage or Signature homeowners policy
Limit: Up to $25,000 for all covered cyber events within a policy period
Deductible: This endorsement carries a built-in $500 deductible per covered event.

This coverage:
- Helps cover certain costs related to cyber events affecting you and your eligible family members.

What is covered?
Family Cyber Protection includes coverage for several types of cyber-related events that can impact your household, including:
- Social engineering incidents, such as deception that leads to an insured transferring money.
- Cyberbullying, including costs resulting from professional counseling, temporary relocation, tuition expenses or tutoring costs.
- Identity theft and the costs associated with reinstating credit cards, passports and other important documents.
- Internet cleanup and costs associated with removing false statements on the internet or in the media.
- Data breach, including expenses associated with the notification, investigation and monitoring in the event of a breach.
Additional benefits
In addition to the events above, there is also a $2,500 combined sub-limit for:
- Online extortion threat, including expenses or ransom paid for threats to create a home network disruption or privacy breach.
- System compromise, including certain costs to restore systems and replace damaged data.
Real-life scenarios
Credit card scam
A family member discovers their personal information has been used fraudulently to open a credit card. This protection may help reimburse certain costs to respond to the identity theft, such as credit report fees and approved professional services.
Cyberbullying incident
A student experiences online harassment that results in diagnosed emotional distress and missed time from school. This protection may help cover professional counseling and tutoring costs associated with the harassment.
Ransomware
A homeowner receives a credible demand threatening disruption of a home computer system unless payment is made. The homeowner sends money for the demand. This protection provides the homeowner with up to the $2,500 sub-limit for the ransom paid.
What isn’t covered?
This coverage is designed for certain cyber-related events. It doesn’t apply to every online issue or loss, including:
- Mass events, typically publicized by the media or identified by the federal or state government
- Business-related activities
- Wrongful, dishonest or fraudulent activities by the policyholder
- Fines, penalties, taxes or third-party liability claims against the policyholder
