Amica Raises $29,654 for 2025 CEO Challenge

Amica Insurance was proud to take part in the 2025 CEO Challenge in support of ALS United Rhode Island on Tuesday, Aug. 5, raising $29,654 to increase ALS awareness and assist those battling the disease. Over the past five years, Amica’s employee and company donations have raised over $200,000 in support of those impacted by ALS.
Amica President and CEO Ted Shallcross stepped up to be soaked at the event, which took place at Amica headquarters. This year, Amica employee Rachel Jones, who is affected by ALS herself, was chosen to do the honors and douse Shallcross with a bucket of water.
An information systems officer who’s been with the company for 27 years, Jones expressed appreciation for her colleagues’ help. “I want to thank my Amica co-workers for all their support, both personally and in donating to such an important cause. There has never been more hope for treatments and cures for ALS than there is now. I’m grateful for organizations like ALS United Rhode Island that provide needed support for those with this disease.”
Shallcross added, “I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has helped fight this terrible disease over the years. Their enthusiasm and generosity have once again reminded me why Amica and its employees are so special. And I especially want to recognize Rachel, whose determination and positive outlook are an inspiration to us all.”
