California Earthquake Coverage
Along with many other insurers, Amica is partnering with the California Earthquake Authority (CEA) to provide important earthquake coverage for California policyholders. The CEA provides the majority of all earthquake coverage throughout California, and the organization offers home, condo, dwelling, and renters policies.
If you have a home, condo, dwelling or renters policy with Amica, you’re also eligible to purchase a CEA policy.

Coverage questions asked by California customers
CEA is short for the California Earthquake Authority. After the Northridge earthquake, the California State Legislature created the CEA in 1996. CEA is a not-for-profit, residential earthquake provider that encourages Californians to reduce their risk of earthquake loss. CEA is a publicly managed, privately funded entity and receives no money from the California state budget, so the budget has no impact on CEA’s ability to pay claims.
A CEA policy is available to any Amica home, condo, dwelling and renters policyholders. An offer of earthquake insurance is mailed to your preferred mailing address when your policy starts.
While earthquake coverage will be provided by CEA, Amica will still handle and respond to a claim if you have one. You may contact Amica directly at 800-242-6422 if you have an earthquake claim.
