How does this coverage work?
Increased Towing and Labor coverage provides the following enhancements compared with our Essential or Advantage policies:
- Provides a $300 limit per covered disablement
- Includes enhanced roadside benefits through Amica’s Roadside Assistance Program. In addition to the standard benefits, such as tire changes, jump starts, fuel delivery and lockout service, it also includes:
- Up to 100 miles of customer-choice towing.
- An extended winching distance of 20 feet from the road.
- A $30 Lyft voucher valid for 24 hours for all towing events.
Real-life scenarios
Breakdown far from home
A customer experiences a breakdown far from home and needs their vehicle towed to their repair shop closer to home. Increased Towing and Labor helps cover the towing costs for up to 100 miles and provides the driver with a $30 Lyft voucher to assist with getting back home.
Stuck vehicle
A customer slides off the road and requires winching to be safely recovered. The extended winching distance included with Increased Towing and Labor helps cover the additional service needed to get the vehicle back on the roadway.
Flat tire
A customer experiences a flat tire late at night on a highway. Increased Towing and Labor helps cover the $250 roadside assistance charges to safely change the tire and tow the vehicle to a nearby service location.
Is this coverage right for you?
Increased Towing and Labor coverage can be a good fit if you want extra peace of mind for common roadside issues — and you’d like higher towing and roadside service benefits when you need help away from home.
It may be a good fit if:
- You drive frequently or take longer trips
- You want more protection for towing and roadside service costs
- You like added convenience benefits — such as extended winching distance and a Lyft voucher for towing events.

A disablement is each time your vehicle becomes disabled and needs covered roadside service, such as towing, winching, jump start, lockout service, etc.
Towing and labor generally covers towing (up to your policy limit) and labor performed at the place of disablement (not at the repair shop). Common examples include jump starts, tire changes, lockout service and fuel delivery.
No. Labor is only covered if performed at the scene of disablement, and parts aren’t covered under this feature.
Towing and labor options are typically applied to all vehicles listed on an auto policy.
