Homeowners Insurance

Choosing homeowners insurance means finding the right level of protection for your needs and budget. YourPlan offers three coverage tiers designed to make that decision even easier. Review your options to see how you can customize your coverage.

Compare homeowners coverage options with YourPlan

YourPlan builds on the standard coverages in your homeowners policy and gives you flexible tiers with additional options to modify features for more peace of mind or adjust coverages that may not align with your needs.

Our Essential, Advantage and Signature tiers build on one another, with each level adding additional coverages and benefits to the last. The comparison chart below shows what’s included in each tier on top of the many standard coverages already built into your homeowners policy.

Below is a brief overview of the auto coverages and features available through YourPlan

Roof Loss Settlement

This coverage modifies how depreciation is applied to the repair or replacement of your roof in the event of a covered wind- or hail-related loss. With the Essential package, depreciation is applied to your estimate depending on the age of your roof, while the Advantage or Signature tiers provide full replacement cost of your roof without applying depreciation.

Personal Property Loss Settlement

This coverage modifies how depreciation is applied to your personal property, such as clothing and furniture, in the event of a covered loss. With Essential, depreciation is applied to the value of your personal property, while the Advantage or Signature tiers provide full replacement cost of your items without applying depreciation.

Tree Debris Removal

This feature provides up to $1,000 in coverage to clean up tree debris in your yard in the event of a storm or other covered event.

Rebuild Cost Protection

In the event of a total loss, this feature provides for an additional percentage above the Dwelling (Coverage A) limit listed in the policy declarations page when the cost to rebuild or repair your home exceeds that limit. This can help protect against rising construction costs or upgrades you made before the loss occurred.

Buried Utility Lines Coverage

This coverage helps protect you from the high, unexpected costs of repairing underground utility lines, such as water, sewer or electrical lines, that run from your home to the street when they’re damaged, which are typically not covered with a standard homeowners policy.

Water Backup and Sump Pump

This coverage helps repair your property if it’s damaged by water from backed-up drains or sump pump failures.

Refrigerated Property

If your home is affected by a storm or power outage, this coverage helps cover the cost to replace spoiled food in your refrigerator and freezer.

Matching Roof and Siding

This feature helps cover the additional cost to replace or match undamaged roof surfacing or siding, so your home maintains a more uniform appearance after a covered loss.

Total Fire Loss Settlement

In the event of a total loss caused by a house fire, you can choose to rebuild in place or receive a check equal to the Dwelling (Coverage A limit) shown on your policy declarations page. This gives you the flexibility to either rebuild your home, build it differently or elsewhere, or use the funds for something else entirely.

Large Loss Deductible Waiver

Large Loss Deductible Waiver helps reduce your out-of-pocket costs by waiving up to $2,500 of your deductible when a covered loss under your homeowners policy reaches $75,000.

Home Claim Forgiveness

This coverage helps protect you from a rate increase after a qualifying home claim (not exceeding $5,000). That means more confidence your premium won’t jump because of a single covered loss.
