Amica Insurance announces promotions

LINCOLN, R.I. - Amica Mutual Insurance Co. is pleased to announce the following promotions:

Steven Gendreau Senior Assistant Vice President in the Marketing department

Steven Gendreau, of Seekonk, Massachusetts, was promoted to senior assistant vice president in the marketing department.

Gendreau earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Bryant University in 1976, and he started at Amica as an associate programmer in 1977. Gendreau worked in various positions within the corporate information systems department until he moved to marketing as director of internet and mobile experience in 2008.

In his new role, Gendreau oversees Amica’s customer-facing online applications.

Tara S. Costello Assistant Vice President in the Claims Executive department

Tara S. Costello, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was promoted to assistant vice president in the claims executive department.

Costello earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vassar College in 2003, and she started at Amica as an associate adjuster in 2004. Costello has worked in several positions within the claims department, with stops in Amica’s Dallas, Michigan and Baltimore offices. She has also earned five insurance-related designations and two business-related designations, including the CPCU designation in 2007.  

In her new role, Costello oversees the claims departments and initiatives in her region.

John L. Strain, III Assistant Vice President/Director of Corporate services in the Corporate Services department

John L. Strain, III, of West Warwick, Rhode Island, was promoted to assistant vice president/director of corporate services in the corporate services department.

Strain earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Hobart College in 1990, and he started at Amica as an associate adjuster in 1991. Strain has worked in various positions within the claims, service center operations and human resources departments, with stops in Amica’s Cincinnati and Wellesley offices.

In his new role, Strain oversees the day-to-day operations of facilities, real estate, distribution, purchasing, mail/scanning operations, print services, security operations and workplace violence.

Todd R. Larson Corporate Services Officer in the Corporate Services department

Todd R. Larson, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, was promoted to corporate services officer in the corporate services department.

Larson earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1992, and he started at Amica as an associate adjuster in 1993. Larson has worked in various positions within the claims, training and development and corporate services departments, with stops in Amica’s Northern New Jersey, Long Island, Wellesley and Southeastern Massachusetts offices.  Additionally, he earned his CPCU designation in 2006.   

In his new role, Larson oversees business continuity coordination and records management.
