Tops again! Amica highest in customer satisfaction for 11th straight year!


LINCOLN, RI – Amica Mutual Insurance Co. has again been ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among National Homeowners Insurers” in the J.D. Power and Associates Homeowners Insurance Study. The 2012 results represent the 11th year in a row that Amica ranked highest in customer satisfaction.

“Being ranked highest in customer satisfaction for 11 straight years demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible customer satisfaction in the insurance industry,” said Robert M. DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO of Amica.

What’s truly remarkable, DiMuccio said, is that Amica’s customer satisfaction score increased by 28 points over the previous year.

“We experienced a relentless barrage of weather-related catastrophes last year, but our employees worked extra hard to provide the exceptional service our customers have come to expect from Amica,” DiMuccio said. “We worked hard for our customers and we appreciate them acknowledging that, through these study results.”

Here are some highlights from the study:

  • Amica’s Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) score is 859, which is 28 points higher than its 2011 score and 74 points higher than the industry average.
  • Amica’s CSI is 35 points higher than the second-ranked homeowners insurance company.
  • The industry average CSI is 785, up 16 points from last year.
  • The study looks at five different factors – interaction, price, billing and paying, claims and policy offerings – and Amica exceeded the industry average in all five areas.
