LINCOLN, R.I. - Ramona Royal, a human resources officer at Amica Mutual Insurance Co., was recently named to the Providence Business News’ “40 Under Forty,” a list of young professionals who have experienced career success and performed work in the community.
“I’m really proud to be part of such a distinguished list of people,” Royal said. “Being recognized for what you do is always an honor.”
Royal is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and she started at Amica in 1998 as an associate adjuster in Amica’s Philadelphia Regional Office. In 2000, Royal was promoted to management recruiter in the company’s corporate headquarters in Lincoln. She has held various positions in the 15 years since, including recruiting coordinator and manager of employment and employee integration. In 2014, she was promoted to human resources officer with a focus on talent acquisition and inclusion.
A native of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, Royal is a volunteer at Year Up, a Providence-based program that empowers low-income young adults to go from poverty to professional careers in a single year. Additionally, Royal serves as treasurer for the Diversity and Inclusion Professionals (DAIP) in Rhode Island.
“It’s an honor to be part of these initiatives in the community and at Amica,” Royal said. “I’m proud to work for a company that recognizes the importance of diversity in the workforce, and how it can help us to better serve our customers.”
Royal was honored with the other “40 Under Forty” winners in a ceremony on July 23 at Aldrich Mansion in Warwick.
