Registration now open for 2011 Amica 19.7 Boston and Amica 19.7 Phoenix

PROVIDENCE, RI –Eident Sports Marketing is pleased to announce that the dates have been set and registration is now open for the 2011 Amica 19.7 Boston and the Amica 19.7 Phoenix sprint triathlons.

The Amica 19.7 Boston will be held Aug. 13 in Hopkinton, MA. The Amica 19.7 Phoenix will be held Nov. 6 at Lake Pleasant Park, Peoria, AZ.

Both events are part of the 2011 Amica 19.7 Triathlon Series, a sprint distance series of triathlons held throughout the country. The events feature a half-mile swim, a 16.1-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. The Amica 19.7 Phoenix also will include an international distance triathlon that is comprised of a 1.5K swim, a 34K bike ride and a 10K run.

Eident Sports has planned a few exciting changes for triathletes who compete in the Amica 19.7 Boston. It will be held at a new venue, Hopkinton State Park. Located in the Greater Boston area, the park boasts the picturesque Hopkinton Reservoir.

"Hopkinton State Park is a beautiful venue and a perfect site to host the Amica 19.7 Boston. The park allows us to provide a safe, secure course for the participating triathletes,” said Brewer Rowe, race director, Amica 19.7 Boston.

The 2011 Amica 19.7 Series will culminate in the fall with the Amica 19.7 Phoenix. This event will feature three divisions – pros, qualifiers and age groupers. The pros will be competing for a $10,000 prize.

Pros Ben Collins and Amy Marsh won the 2010 Amica 19.7 Phoenix. Collins, 27, finished with a time of 1:07:36, his third professional win of the 2010 season. Amy Marsh, a three-time Ironman champion, was the first female to cross the finish line at Lake Pleasant Park with a winning time of 1:19:32.

Chris Braden was the victor in the international distance race in 2010 with a time of 1:53:03. The top female in the international distance was Adrienne Leblanc. She took the title in 2:24:54.
