LINCOLN, Rhode Island – Amica Mutual Insurance Company has been ranked highest in customer satisfaction among auto insurance companies for a 10th consecutive year, according to the J.D. Power and Associates National Auto Insurance Study released this week.
The ranking is based on a survey of 23,000 auto insurance customers, who were asked to rate their primary insurance companies on five factors -- interaction, policy offerings, billing and payment, price, and claims.
Amica earned top scores in all five areas, scoring 851 out of 1,000 possible points on the customer satisfaction index ranking. The average score for other insurance companies was 801.
“This award says that we’ve consistently held to some fairly simple but important values as a company that our customers keep telling us are important,” said Robert A. DiMuccio, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
It’s also a testament to the company’s more than 3,200 employees, DiMuccio said. “Each day, we’re busy handling details, requests and information and doing the things that fulfill our promises to policyholders. This award is important because it causes us to stop for a moment, take a breath and recognize that we do our jobs well.”
The J.D. Power and Associates award is the latest in a string of customer satisfaction honors that Amica has received in recent years, including being named a “Customer Service Champ” by BusinessWeek magazine earlier this year.
