Amica’s Jill Andy named an “industry leader” by Providence Business News

LINCOLN, RI – Jill Andy, senior vice president of human resources at Amica Insurance, was among 14 women honored with a “2011 Business Women” award by the Providence Business News.
Andy was cited as an “industry leader” in professional services for her work at Amica, where she is credited with improving communications, establishing wellness programs and implementing diversity initiatives for the company’s 3,200 employees.

DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO of Amica Insurance. “We’d like to congratulate her on being named one of Rhode Island’s leading businesswomen – and we extend our warmest congratulations to the other winners, as well.”
Andy, a 1986 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, has worked for Amica for the past 23 years. She was manager of the Rhode Island claims department before transferring to human resources. She was named director of the human resources department in February 2008, and most recently was promoted to senior vice president last year.
As director of human resources, Andy has focused on improving communication and wellness among the workforce. She personally visits each of Amica’s 40 offices as part of the company’s Presidential Town Meetings team, to meet with employees and discuss their concerns. She also launched a year-long diversity training program, to foster communication among employees and to better understand the needs of current and prospective customers. And she is credited with a variety of wellness programs that earned Amica Governor’s Wellness Awards in 2009 and 2010.
Andy has been personally involved with the American Heart Association, community-health initiatives and Bryant University. She also serves on the board of trustees for Meeting Street. She lives in Norton, MA, with her husband and daughter.
Andy and other winners of the 2011 Business Women awards were honored at a special luncheon and featured in the Providence Business News last week.
