2010 Amica 19.7 Sprint Triathlon Series kicks off with TexasMan
PROVIDENCE, RI – The Amica 19.7 Triathlon Series, a sprint distance series of events held throughout the country, kicks off its 2010 season on May 16 with the Amica TexasMan Triathlon at Lake Ray Roberts, Denton, TX.
Over 600 athletes are expected to participate in Sunday’s event, which also features the Amica Olympic TexasMan and Amica Long Course TexasMan.
The Amica TexasMan Triathlon 19.7 sprint distance features an 800-yard open-water swim, a 16.1 mile 16.1-mile bike and a 3.1-mile run. Athletes competing in any of the three races will experience a course that begins with a swim off a sandy beach, the bike course through rolling hills and concludes with a run course shaded by trees.
The Amica TexasMan Triathlon long course begins at 7 a.m., followed by the Olympic distance at 7:10 a.m. and the 19.7 sprint at 8:15 a.m.
Athletes interested in competing in any of the three races can register online through Saturday, May 15. There is no on-site onsite registration.
