Amica has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the communities it serves. Just as our dedication to superior customer service sets us apart from other insurance companies, our commitment to community involvement enables us to truly understand the needs of our customers and neighbors.
Amica employees are avid volunteers and these activities are applauded and encouraged through a number of company programs. The Citizenship Grant Program provides financial support to a wide range of community groups in which Amica employees are involved. The Amica Gives Program matches interested employees with Amica-sponsored community events. Company employees have stepped forward to help schools, sports teams, cause-related organizations, cultural and art groups, and fire and police organizations in communities across the country. Continued support of volunteer activities is enhanced by the presence of the Amica Companies Foundation, a tax-exempt permanent endowment established to financially supplement employee volunteer efforts.
Employees also organize food, clothing, and even "back-to-school backpack" drives to help needy families and organizations within their communities. This personal involvement also extends to helping organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, in an effort to create a better life for members of the community.
In addition to volunteer and charitable activities, Amica supports a wide range of activities that bring people together to enjoy a common event. These activities include cultural events, festivals, youth sports, and many other activities that are important to local communities. In recent years we have supported significant events such as the U.S. Women's Open, Amica Insurance Tall Ships, WaterFire Providence, The Amica Insurance Breakers Marathon, and organizations including minor league baseball teams.
