J.D. Power and Associates contacts thousands of insurance customers to study the performance of their insurance companies. For the National Auto Insurance and National Homeowners Insurance Studies the customers are asked about their satisfaction with their insurers’ policy offerings, pricing, and day-to-day interactions, along with their overall service experiences.

Amica earned high honors as a “Customer Service Champ” in BusinessWeek magazine’s second-annual rankings.³ The 2008 report ranks the 25 best providers of customer service and describes the techniques, strategies, and tools these companies use to deliver great service.

A.M. Best Company

A.M. Best, a leading insurance industry analyst and the nation's authority on insurance company financial stability, has given the financial strength rating (FSR) of A++ (Superior) to Amica Mutual Group (Amica). This rating applies to the lead company, Amica Mutual Insurance Company and its affiliates: Amica Lloyd's of Texas (Sugar Land, TX) and Amica Property & Casualty Insurance Company.⁴ Additionally, A.M. Best has given the FSR of A+ (Superior) to Amica Life Insurance Company (Amica Life).⁴ These A.M. Best ratings reflect the respective Amica companies' outstanding capitalization, solid operating performance, and well-established market positions.

National Commission Against Drunk Driving

Amica Mutual Insurance Company and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation received the NCADD, Education and Prevention award for creating an effective prevention/education program resulting in the Rhode Island State Legislature lowering the drunk driving limit from .10 Blood-Alcohol Concentration to .08 BAC while increasing the public awareness of the dangers of impaired driving. Thomas Taylor of Amica Insurance and Ed Walsh of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation accepted the award.
