Amica’s CIS department nominated for Impact Award
LINCOLN, R.I. - Amica Insurance’s corporate information systems department was recently nominated for a Novarica Research Council Impact Award.
Amica’s CIS department earned the nomination by creating the Application Configuration Management section, which adopts best practices from DevOps and incorporates them into the software development life cycle. The project, which took more than six months and a team of 10 people to complete, supports Amica’s goals of modernizing technology and identifying and implementing process efficiencies.
“Being nominated for this award means a tremendous amount,” said Greg Calderiso, an information systems officer at Amica and the sponsor of the project. “It’s an amazing recognition of the hard work, innovative thinking and solution-oriented nature of the CIS staff.
“This team was formed from a group of individuals that had a wide variety of skill sets, personalities and experiences,” he added. “Very quickly, they all discovered their common purpose, goals and identity to become an extremely high-performing team.”
The 2014 Impact Awards will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Westin Grand Central in New York, N.Y. The awards are judged exclusively by more than 300 insurer CIO members of the Novarica Insurance Technology Research Council, making it the largest purely peer-juried recognition in the industry.
