Amica Insurance hosts students at PawSox game
LINCOLN, RI – Fifty honors students from Gilbert Stuart Middle School in Providence enjoyed a barbecue lunch, autograph session and baseball game between the Pawtucket Red Sox and Columbus Clippers on April 30 at sun-splashed McCoy Stadium. The event was sponsored by Amica Insurance.
The students, who received autographs from and posed for pictures with PawSox pitcher Jose de la Torre, also had the opportunity to yell out “Play ball!” before the top of the first inning. In addition, Gilbert Stuart seventh-grader Albert Doe was selected to throw out one of the ceremonial first pitches to Pawtucket pitcher Chris Carpenter. The PawSox, meanwhile, ultimately fell to the Clippers, 6-5, in 15 innings.
“Amica Insurance is proud to partner with the Pawtucket Red Sox for events like this,” said Matt Lazzareschi, a senior sponsorship specialist with Amica Insurance. “It was great to spend some time with the students from Gilbert Stuart Middle School, and it was a perfect day to catch a ballgame. We hope the students had a blast, and we look forward to hosting them again in the future.”
