Amica Insurance donates $37,000 to Boston Children's Hospital
BOSTON – As part of the Amica Game Ball program, Amica Insurance donated $37,000 to Boston Children’s Hospital in a check presentation on Friday at Comcast SportsNet’s Ace Ticket Studios.
Comcast SportsNet personality Gary Tanguay hosted the event, as Robert A. DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO of Amica, presented the check to Dick Argys, senior vice president and CAO of Boston Children’s Hospital. The donation brings Amica’s total gift to $177,000 during the last five years.
“Once again, the Amica Game Ball program and Boston Children’s Hospital have teamed up for a wonderful cause – providing the best possible care for kids,” DiMuccio said. “We are proud of the partnership we’ve developed with Boston Children’s Hospital, and we look forward to more of this teamwork in the future.”
“The relationship between Amica Insurance and Boston Children’s Hospital keeps growing stronger thanks to the Amica Game Ball program, ” Argys said. “Important donations from companies like Amica make it possible for Boston Children’s to continue providing outstanding treatment to our patients.”
“I love watching the Celtics play live because you get to see better and hear all the noises,” said Miller, who donned a green Paul Pierce jersey but admitted that his favorite player is Kevin Garnett.
Before Miller was born, an ultrasound revealed a blockage in his heart. Boston Children’s Hospital’s doctors performed a novel procedure, repairing Jack’s heart, then the size of a grape, while he was still in his mother’s womb. Thanks to this first-of-its-kind care, Miller was born perfectly healthy and remains healthy today.
