Amica rated “superior” by A.M. Best, leading insurance industry analyst

LINCOLN, RI – Amica Insurance has again been rated A++ (Superior) by A.M. Best Co., the nation’s leading authority on the financial stability of insurance companies.

“Amica is proud to consistently rank among the top insurance companies in the country in terms of financial stability,” said Robert DiMuccio, president, chairman and CEO of Amica Insurance. “This rating demonstrates our solid operating performance and ability to assist our policyholders, despite a record number of severe weather events across the country last year.”

A.M. Best also reaffirmed Amica Life’s A+ rating. Both A++ and A+ ratings are listed in A.M. Best’s highest (Superior) category.

“The superior ratings for both the Amica Mutual Insurance Company and the Amica Life Insurance Company reflect a combination of outstanding capitalization, solid operating performance and a well-established market position,” DiMuccio said.

He also credited Amica’s more than 3,100 employees for their efforts in handling the record number of claims filed last year. “Our employees worked particularly hard to maintain this critical measure of our financial stability,” DiMuccio said. “Let’s hope Mother Nature is much kinder this year.”
