Amica congratulates RIIL softball champions
LINCOLN, RI – Cumberland High School and East Greenwich High School have been crowned the Division I and Division II Amica Insurance Rhode Island Interscholastic League girls’ softball champions.
Cumberland High School defeated Mount St. Charles Academy for the Division I title. East Greenwich High School defeated Portsmouth High School for the Division II championship title.
The playoff games were held at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex at Rhode Island College. On June 5, Central High School of Providence beat Central Falls High School for the Division III title.
Matt Lazzareschi, sponsorship specialist with Amica, commended the players for their sportsmanship and hard work throughout the playoff series.
“All of the teams should be very proud of their accomplishments,” he said. “Amica would like to congratulate the athletes, coaches and school officials for a great softball season. We hope the games at Rhode Island College were a memorable experience for everyone.”
